I think one of the things people often find so disturbing about the insane is the degree to which they are self-absorbed -- muttering to themselves, clutching their arms tight to shut out the world, seeing things that no one else will ever see.

No one likes to be ignored, after all.

Naturally, I only think of this while in the shower with the lights off, whispering my way through whatever thoughts come through my head in a half-hearted attempt to find something that isn't fully chewed-over before morning comes and I go to sleep again. Heh.

..that said, God save us from the readily interpretable, for we know what they do not.
